Floating Island

One of my first larger-scale environment projects. I was tasked with scope, design, and scheduling. I was also a modeler and texture artist, where I was challenged to learn how to apply different kinds of shaders and halftones to Arnold. A large part of this procedural project was creating a final product that only used base color and normal maps, as the half-tone and toon shaders wouldn’t allow for any other maps. Our team was pushed to remain consistent in our art style, which was set as a hybrid. HDRI sky maps and 2D clouds were used in tandem with toon shaders to create a unique experience for the audience.
